Illinois is among the American cities notorious for animal hoarding. This is why volunteers from the Tails Humane Society of DeKalb, Illinois, rejoiced in a recent development that 44 dogs got rescued from a local animal hoarding shop. After the rescue, the dogs have been fostered by loving homes until they got adopted for good.
According to the team that rescued the 44 dogs, the dogs were subjected to maltreatment and lived under deplorable conditions. The group thanked an elderly couple who became instrumental in the rescue operations. The elderly couple informed the local animal shelter about the hoarding factory, so the authorities raided the factory and stopped its operations.
If not for the elderly couple, the team said they would not know where these dogs were taken. In a Facebook post, the Tails Humane Society made it known to their readers about the successful rescue operations. In the same way, the group similarly asked for help in looking for foster homes for these dogs.
Since the post went viral, there were many applicants for the dogs’ adoption. However, since the group follows strict protocol, they will still scan through all the applications. This is to ensure that the family the dogs will be given custody to are deserving.
The animal shelter asked for the public’s understanding regarding adoption. The shelter found loving foster homes for the 44 dogs, where the dogs will seek temporary refuge. As soon as the dogs recover from the trauma they felt, the animal shelter will announce the adoption. From there, the adoption process will run for those who are interested.
In a separate Facebook post, the humane society thanked all the people who extended help for the 44 dogs. The humane society particularly thanked the people who showed interest in adopting the dogs for good.
