Dogs are smart and easy to train to do tricks. With the stay-at-home restrictions that are brought about by the global Coronavirus pandemic, many dog owners came up with dog “challenges” that test a dog’s intelligence and of course, entertain themselves and others during these trying times.
In the video, a man and his daughter, Sara, are testing their dog with the “Do your dog’s training but ignore your dog” challenge. This challenge is made to see how the dog will react when his human is the one doing the training and is also the one getting the treats.
At first, the man orders Sara to stay down. The dog, thinking that he’s the one being trained, stayed down as well. The man then commands Sara to “stand up.” Right off the bat, the dog stood up even before the girl could do the same. He was doing his best to impress his owner, but unfortunately for the poor pooch, they were completely ignoring him.
Sara mimics how the dog stands up and then takes the treat all to herself. The adorable dog keeps on standing up, hoping his owner will notice, but they were still ignoring him.
The man orders Sara to open the fridge. The dog knows this part of the training so well that he bolts over to the fridge to open it, but not far behind, Sara rushes to open the fridge as well. And who did dad reward for doing the trick right? Yes, it’s Sarah and the poor dog is becoming more confused as to why he isn’t being rewarded when he did well himself.
Finally, the man orders Sara to “heel.” Before she could get to the man’s legs, the determined doggo managed to do the command first. He sticks his head in between the man’s legs even when Sara pushes him away. They couldn’t help but chuckle at how determined the dog was.
At the end of it all, the video proves one thing—that no matter how much we ignore our dogs, they will always do their best to be obedient and good dogs.
