Laurette Nicoll was walking in her yard when she saw a little dog push her way through the fence right out of the corner of her eye. The stray pooch came straight to Laurette with her tail wagging as if there was no tomorrow, all while seeking attention.
Laurette immediately called her neighbor to ask about the pup, and she eventually found out that the dog’s name was Georgia. It turns out that Georgia was a street dog who was staying temporarily with the next-door neighbor.
Laurette put Georgia back inside her neighbor’s yard, but the pooch quickly ran straight back to her without hesitation. She returned Georgia once again to her caretaker’s backyard, but the same thing happened.
Laurette felt that she and Georgia had a very tangible connection, making her believe that the dog was choosing her to be her family over and over again. She eventually let Georgia settle into her home when the stray dog attempted to push her way into her yard.
Georgia instantly fell asleep and never looked so contented afterward. Laurette asked her neighbor that same night if she could keep Georgia for good, and luckily, he said yes without skipping a beat.
Laurette’s adoption application for Georgia was processed immediately, and she could not be any more glad that Georgia settled right into her family without any hiccup. Georgia never left her human mom’s side, and she kept following her around wherever she went.
Laurette shared how grateful she was to have Georgia in her life because she was recovering from six rounds of chemotherapy and 25 rounds of radiation when the sweet pup first started sneaking through the fence. She battled and fortunately won her battle with ovarian cancer, and she could not have done it without Georgia’s fantastic support.
