An animal shelter based in Ukraine rescued a filthy, neglected blue-eyed dog that lived on the streets for quite a while. The poor animal was severely malnourished and covered in mange. The rescue workers gave the dog lots of food and medicine. Soon after, the rescuers shared the pup’s photo and story on Facebook and hoped that a new loving family would come and give him a home.
Because the dog was in rough shape, they thought it would be difficult to get people interested in him. But the dog’s sad blue eyes attracted a lot of Facebook user’s attention, and people shared his story hundreds of times.
Two days after sharing the dog’s picture on social media, a woman called the shelter saying the pup looked like her missing dog. She explained that her dog, Lord, was stolen from her yard. She was devastated, and she missed him terribly.
The following morning, the woman came to the shelter to meet the dog. The pooch and the woman approached each other, both nervously and hesitantly at first. But just a few seconds later, the dog’s tail started wagging. He stood up and hugged the woman, and the lady began crying. It was clear that this was really her missing dog, Lord.
The shelter captured the tear-jerking reunion of the loving mom and her furbaby. They shared that precious moment on their Facebook page and thanked the people who spread the word about the dog. Because of them, Lord’s reunion with his mom became possible.
Lord and his mom clearly have an amazing bond. They recognized one another after two years of separation. After so much suffering, Lord was finally back in his mom’s care, and it only proves that no matter how much time passed, love will always connect two hearts that beat as one.
