Adopting a dog means that you’re making them a part of the family. Dogs aren’t merely animals that we can keep for the sake of having a dog. Dogs are emotional creatures that need social interaction from their owners. Unfortunately, not a lot of people understand what it means to be a dog owner and end up neglecting the poor animals.
An adorable and friendly Beagle named Bean lived alone in a backyard for a long time. When animal rescuers from PETA visited Bean, Bean was so excited about getting a lot of attention from the rescuers. Bean wanted to play, and he was wagging his tail whenever the rescuers tried petting him through the wire fence.
The PETA rescuers wanted to get Bean out of his current situation and find him a home that will truly love him. Bean was kept in a backyard in a small pen. He probably wasn’t walked by his owners, and it’s likely that he hasn’t seen the inside of a house. Bean needed a real family that would genuinely care for him and not keep him in a small pen outside the home.
The only problem was that Bean’s stubborn owner refused to give Bean up. Bean didn’t look like he was abused or neglected, which means that the owner wasn’t committing animal cruelty. Bean was just socially neglected, which is definitely no way for a dog to live. Since Bean’s owner wasn’t giving Bean up, PETA volunteer rescuers decided to do the next best thing for the adorable Beagle.
With Bean’s owner’s permission, PETA volunteers started improving Bean’s pen. The rescuers cleaned Bean’s pen, laid hay for insulation, and also replaced Bean’s rotting dog house. Bean was so friendly when the rescuers came inside his enclosure. He finally got his long-overdue belly rubs.
Three years after the rescuers visited Bean, Bean’s owner eventually gave Bean up to PETA. Now, Bean’s finally getting his long-overdue Christmas present of being a part of a real family. Bean had no trouble finding a forever home with a loving family that will truly care for him. Here’s a heartwarming video featuring Bean and the PETA rescuers who made Bean’s Christmas wish come true.
