It’s no secret that our pet doggos experience separation anxiety. That’s why they hate being left alone at home, but sometimes we have no other choice but to do just that, especially if the family will have to go to another city to attend a very special occasion like a wedding or a funeral.
This is something that Donna Adams and her family had to do when a relative passed away. Unfortunately, the Adams lived in Rankin Inlet, in Nunavut, Canada, and they had to travel 70 kilometers to Whale Cove to attend the funeral services.
This only meant that they had to leave their trusty German shepherd pooch, Pepper, behind. But before the family left, the doggo started showing signs that she also wanted to come. When the Adams started packing up, Pepper kept on running around as if she was excited about the trip.
Little did Pepper know that she was not invited. Poor little pooch! However, when the family left for Whale Cove, Pepper already hatched a plan to follow them! When Donna’s husband went back to their house several days later, he did not find Pepper anywhere!
Of course, the Adams were worried sick about their runaway pooch. But what they didn’t know was that Pepper wasn’t too far away from them. Somewhere in Whale Cove, a little girl found Pepper wandering the snowy streets and took a photo of her. She then posted the image online and Donna’s granddaughter saw the post.
Donna couldn’t believe her eyes! Pepper had been missing for several days already and they would never have imagined that she would follow them 70 kilometers from Rankin Inlet to Whale Cove. Donna cried tears of joy when she was reunited with her baby. Hopefully this time around, the Adams will keep a closer eye on Pepper.
