Adorable Dog Plays Dead On The Day Of Her Vet’s Appointment

Adorable Dog Plays Dead On The Day Of Her Vet’s Appointment

Scott Fannin January 5, 2021

As dog owners, we often wonder if our dogs can actually understand us. Dogs are intelligent creatures that don’t just understand us, but they can also be quite clever or cunning animals. Dogs can understand people, and although they are always keen to go on walks, they will do everything they can to avoid going to the vet.

It always amazes me that dogs know when their owners are going to take them to the vet. They know the difference when their humans will take them to the dog park or the vet. Dogs also act differently depending on where we’re going to take them. When it’s the dog park, they act all excited and can’t wait to jump in the car for the ride to the dog park to meet and play with their doggie friends.

However, if the car ride is going to the vet, dogs will give you a lot of trouble to get them inside the car. Most dogs hate the vet, and it feels a little like taking your children to the dentist. A Shiba Inu named Lulu was due for a vet’s appointment to be spayed. On the day of Lulu’s appointment, Lulu’s mom tried to wake Lulu up to get ready for her appointment.

Lulu appeared to be sleeping on the bed. When Lulu’s mom tried to wake her up, she refused even to open her eyes. Lulu’s mom even tried petting and gently shaking Lulu to wake her up with no success. Eventually, Lulu’s mom figured out that Lulu was playing dead to avoid going to the veterinarian.

Lulu must have overheard her parents talking about taking her to the veterinarian. When Lulu figured that out, she must have to the bed and played dead. Lulu desperately kept her eyes closed, hoping that her mom would change her mind about the vet’s appointment.

No matter how much Lulu’s mom tried to wake Lulu up, Lulu refused to open her eyes. However, Lulu’s mom had one final trick up her sleeve. Lulu’s mom snuck from behind and shook a bag full of treats. Hearing the treat bag’s sound, Lulu’s ears perked up, and she realized what that sound was. Lulu absolutely fell for it and had to go to her vet’s appointment.

Hopefully, Lulu did get a handful of those treats after she visited the vet for her surgery. Lulu really is an incredibly smart dog for pulling a stunt like that to avoid going to the vet. Here’s the hilarious video showing Lulu playing dead to avoid going to her appointment with the veterinarian.
