Everyone knows that Bindi Irwin, the daughter of wildlife icon Steve Irwin, loves animals, very much like her dad. So it comes as no surprise when Bindi adopted a pup, making it the newest member of her family.
Before Bindi and Chandler Powell got married, they decided to adopt a puppy. It was a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. The animal-loving couple chose to name their new baby Piggy.

Chandler Powell revealed the puppy’s adoption on Instagram. His post featured three adorable photos of Piggy, even calling him a gorgeous puppy. He said he couldn’t wait to begin the new decade giving this sweetheart the happiest and most loving home.
In the photos, the cute Spaniel could be seen lying cozily in his bed. There was another photo that showed him running on the grass. Another showed Bindi and Chandler having a sweet time with Piggy.
Bindi replied to the post of her then-fiancé with a sweet message. It was about her anticipation for the next incredible life chapter. She even said, “So much love and light.” She ended the post with a heart emoji.
Bindi and Chandler’s love for animals
The young couple announced their engagement on July 24 last year after dating for almost six years. To mark their engagement uniquely, Bindi and Chandler released a koala back into the wild.
Earlier this year, Bindi and Chandler got married at the Australia Zoo, the place where the Irwin family members live and work. This was also where Bindi met Chandler back in 2013 when the young wakeboarder from Florida was visiting the zoo. Because of the coronavirus pandemic, the wedding had no guests except for Terri Irwin, Bindi’s mom, and Robert Irwin, Bindi’s younger brother. Bindi honored Steve by lighting a candle in his memory during the wedding.
