A kind pizza delivery man knew that he could lose his job, but when he saw that a dog needed his help, he was willing to take that risk.
Mister Snickers
Steve Donovan was on his way to deliver a pizza, a task that he regularly does as a delivery guy. Before turning to a major road, he suddenly saw a black dog dart from one side of the road to the other. He was quite worried that something might happen to the dog and without a thought, turned his car around.
According to Steven, he just couldn’t leave the dog out there, knowing that something bad might happen.
He then stopped his car near where he saw the dog last and tracked him down. When he was able to get him, he took the pup back to his vehicle keeping him away from the dangers of the busy street. Inside, he saw that the dog had a tag and his name is Mister Snickers. His address was there too.
But before he took him home, he had to make his delivery first.
Lose his job
Fortunately for him, even though his delivery was late, his customers understood once he told them the story. They commended his efforts and bade him good luck taking the dog home.
One problem is that the address on the dog’s tag was way off his route back to the pizza shop. He was late as is, and driving the dog would make him even later. He could lose his job.
But then, it was more important to him that the dog was returned and kept safe.
When they got to the location, the dog seemed to remember the area as he stood up and get excited. He recognized the place, and his tail started wagging furiously. But it turned out that the dog no longer lived there. He and his owner have moved residence, and the tag hasn’t been updated yet.
The new owners recognized the dog and took him from Steven. They promised to get in touch with his owners and get him back to his new home.
