Lindsay Golden and Sarah Moore went for a vacation in Evergreen, Colorado, a mountainous area southwest of Denver. They brought their fur babies Mijo, a 15-year old Chiweenie, and Winston, a Dachshund. Their supposedly happy vacation turned into something tragic for Mijo, but thankfully the brave Dachshund Winston saved him from further harm.
Evergreen is a beautiful place to live in, but it comes with hazards for small domesticated animals like Mijo and Winston. The location has plenty of mountain lions, and both Golden and Moore were protective of their babies. However, the dogs happened to sneak out of the house through an open door, and within a few seconds, a mountain lion snatched the poor Mijo.
Instead of running away to save himself, the courageous Winston chased after the mountain lion who got Mijo in his jaws. The Dachshund seemed oblivious of his tiny size in comparison with the mountain lion. He continued to bark aggressively until the giant cat eventually dropped the Chiweenie.
According to Moore, she was not surprised by her loyal dog’s action. Mijo and Winston are best friends, and the latter has a huge heart and will do anything for Mijo. Golden also mentioned that for her, Winston is a 20-pound dog with a 200-pound dog’s courage.
As soon as Mijo was free from the big cat, Golden immediately picked him up, and they brought him to the nearest veterinarian. The poor pup suffered severe injuries from the bite, and he had to undergo emergency surgery. Good thing Mijo is a fighter too, and he survived the ordeal. Golden thinks that it was a miracle that the tiny dog survived the attack.
Now, Mijo is still recovering from his injuries. But, both Golden and Moore are thankful that their brave Winston saved Mijo from more danger.
